Site visitors are reminded that this council, the associated stable & kennel and their animals, the associated show string, and the details of these fictional breeds are all just that: fictional. None of these animals are real, they aren’t really available for sale or breeding services, they aren’t actually related to any real-world names in their pedigrees (more on that below) and the shows they compete in are simulations with randomized results and no real-world fees or prize money.
Traditionally sim game communities encourage filling the pedigrees of created sim animals with names of real world animals, borrowing the breed/performance heritage and giving a basis for decided on coat colour and genotype. This means you will see real world horses and dogs in my pedigrees. Again, these sim animals are not real! I vow that all newly created animals from autumn 2025 forward will have buffer fake names are sire & dam before the real world borrowed pedigree to help reinforce that these are fictional animals. Please note that animals with histories in other communities may not have these pedigree buffers.
Please also note that animals coming from other communities will tend to have show results histories from those other communities, some of which borrow the names of real-world high profile competitions because it’s fun to pretend that our horses are going there. Once again, these animals are fake. They never attended the real shows. The results of “those shows” on their pages are not legitimate results from real world counterpart events.
Site visitors are also reminded that the Creative Commons licensed photo used in the layout (if I haven’t replaced it with artwork and forgot to update this page) is used correctly under Pixabay’s agreement. Our “this horse has no image” placeholder graphic uses the same photo. The photographer’s name and the link to Pixabay’s agreement are in the footer of every page on this website.
Creative Commons Rights for the Victorian Breeds
All sim game players, regardless of which community they play in (if at all, parallel solo players are welcome too!) can use the Victorian breeds as described on this website. You can copy & paste my breed descriptions and breeding guidelines, or even link here directly when establishing a sub-council in your community. You can use my stud book inspections service (though I owe no apologies if I don’t get to them for long periods of time) or copy it. Sub-councils established in your other communities do not need to require inspection before breeding if you don’t want to do that or if you game prohibits it, as long as the breeding guidelines are being followed.
My condition is that no one claims to be the creator of these breeds. Jenna of Blackvale or Westveil Estate (depending where I was playing at the time) am the creator of these breeds. You may continue to attribute to Jenna of either stable name or just Blackvale Estate. I would also very much appreciate it if no one attempts to add more breeds. If you want to see other breeds, create your own!
Owners of Victorian breeds in other communities are welcome to have their horses dual-registered or dual-inspected as other breeds they qualify for, and I have no problem with the Victorian breeds being used in breeding stock for other sim breeds. Victorian Warmbloods and Victorian Sport Horses are frequently dual-registered in certain sim circles as American Warmbloods or with various sport horse registries. Victorian Riding Ponies are frequently dual-registered in certain sim circles as American Riding Ponies. This is because the real-world American registries mentioned do not have pedigree requirements. My own stock is Canadian, but the Canadian Warmblood and Canadian Sport Horse have pedigree requirements that are usually not met by my Victorian breed horses.
Copyright Information
All of the artwork featured in the gallery section of this website or chosen to represent the fictional animals I’m playing with are my own work. I work both digitally and traditionally, so you will see various forms of art. All of this is my own work, for which I hold copyright, and I do not release the right to use or sell these images. I sell some of these images myself, on my own print-on-demand storefronts, and may sell from a more home-based solution in the future.
Fellow sim game players and parallel-playing solo players may find some line art in my gallery that is specifically labelled as released for recolour for use in games only. This is the only exception I make to my copyright on my art.
